Rural Development through modern energy services
The lack of modern services increase transaction cost of the rural poor population. This accounts for transportation (access to ...), water supply, the use of cash or money and in modern form of energy. Electricity is seen to play a vital role in overcomming this obstacles while its provision in remote and poor areas and thus its generation and distribution costs stands in contrast to the urgent need of such an "modernizer". This group should assamble students, lectors and researchers who which to make a contribution in addressing this question. The interplay between demand, the economic ability to pay tariffs and the adequate supply is seen as the key challange to be adressed. Means - technically, socially or economically to overcome this barriers will required scientific excellence, innovative power and practical know-how.
